Dear Readers of this blog:
Look what I just saw in Publisher’s Marketplace: our very own Donna Everhart has inked a THREE book deal: Author of THE SAINTS OF SWALLOW HILL and the forthcoming WOMEN OF A PROMISCUOUS NATURE Donna Everhart‘s next three novels, featuring strong women exploring their complicated histories and set against a southern landscape, to Kensington, in a significant deal.
Huge congrats to Donna and love to all of us still typing, dreaming, gnawing our limbs and getting back up.
Love, Betsy

It is! I’m still floating about. Thank you. 🥳
Thank you, Betsy! 🎉💗
I’m grateful for the community you’ve made here. Your posts helped me navigate many things regarding writing/publishing while commiserating about the grind it can sometimes be.
Thank you for being a part of this writer’s journey, although this was probably unknown to you until now.

I appreciate that, 2Ns! I have a feeling if we ever met f2f, it wouldn’t seem like “online.” Hugs.
Gnawing our limbs, for sure!
I’m still doing that – over different sh*t. 😏😂
Such good news.
Thank you! (whoever this is!)
Congratulations, Donna! I’ve read only two of your books. I enjoyed them and am glad you are writing and being published.
Thank you, Tetman. I’m grateful to be hanging on.
Thank you, Betsy, for sharing this news with that speaks-to-me post title and the achingly resonant line, “love to all of us still typing, dreaming, gnawing our limbs and getting back up.” And congratulations to you, Donna! I’ve added The Saints of Swallow Hill (great title) to my list and will watch for the others.

I like the spirit of generosity in all of this. That’s one good thing that usually comes from writer’s groups – encouragement from those that know what you have to go through.
I have little patience for people who like to say, “I should write a book someday,” to which I mentally reply, “Which will never come.” They act as if there’s nothing to it but to carve out the time to do it and they aren’t even willing to make that commitment. They’re simply flapping their jaws to make noise because they are clueless to the suffering, the long hours, and those terrifying moments of self-doubt.
As we all know, it takes a lot more than that. Keep pushing, keep seeking. A writer writes, and it’s nice to get a little recognition from those who know what that really means.
So good on you Betsy, for handing out the kudos.
