You have two choices: write or don’t write. Suffer or suffer differently. Lose yourself or lose everything else. You have two choices: write or Netflix. You were a little girl and you kept a diary. You discovered poetry and thought you entered a secret world where you were not alone. Remember when you wrote on the train, your first book then your second. When you were manic you had an idea or five a day. You thought you could save every broken bird. What came of it besides heartache and despair? You stopped writing for five years, then for four, then three. You have no choice: stay on your meds. Write.
Happy new year friends of the blog. I love you! 2019!

Happy New Year! You are loved back.
No matter what you write, your words are sunshine. Every time i see an email with a link to one of your blogposts i know i’m seconds away from something real, life-giving, smart, and probably funny. I appreciate you for these offerings.
I hope 2019 is great to you.
peace.
Agreed!
Happy New Year uno day at a time, Betsy!
Happy New Year!
I am currently not writing. Finished one and it’s sitting with my agent, and for the first time in almost four years I’m not under contract. I work better under pressure, and I know that, but the ability to meander about the internet without the guilty thought of “I should be writing!” is kind of nice.
Happy New Year! Love in abundance to you, and all who visit here.
Happy New Year, Betsy! Love you, too!
stay on our meds and write….much love back to you. xoxo
Love to you, Betsy.
And all good wishes sent back to you and everyone here!
“Between my finger and my thumb
The squat pen rests.
I’ll dig with it.”
To Betsy and all of us lone stars – Happy New Year!
“Friends of the blog” I like that, I like that a lot.
Love back ‘atcha’ Betsy in ’19 and for all the numbers after. And to all the other friends around here, may ’19 be the first of what you hope for and the last of what held you back.
I’m not writing as much as I should these days. What amazing drugs do you suggest? 😉 Lots of love to you, Betsy, and wishing you a wonderful 2019!
Wishing you, Betsy, and all of us here the very best in 2019.
Great way to start the year. Loved Jan 1. So succinct. So loving. Thanks and Happy Happy!
I love your blog. Stay on your meds and please, keep writing until you run out of song titles and lyrics.
