Bridge Ladies Sometimes I think a meteor could strike the earth and wipe out mankind with the exception of my mother’s Bridge club — Roz, Bea, Bette, Rhoda, and Jackie — five Jewish octogenarians who continue to gather for lunch and Bridge on Mondays as they have for over fifty years. When I set out to learn about the women behind the matching outfits and accessories, I never expected to fall in love with them. 1. Frances McDormand, Parker Posey as runner-up.

  2. “Who is you ideal actor-publisher?”

There is none such. I prefer my actors to act and my publishers to publish.

  3. Sarah Jessica Parker has an imprint at Hogarth. That’s cool.
Then there’s the Oprah thing, which most hate, but I believe that anyone hyping books & reading is okay.

  4. Gerard Depardieu.

  5. Idris Elba

  6. NOT Keanu Reeves.
